Finally.... Pond Inlet!

Quick Update:  We have safely arrived into Pond Inlet late Sunday Afternoon and have taken up temporary residence at Dave Reid's House for a couple of days of sorting gear, prepping kayaks and waiting for the Sea Ice to melt on Eclipse Sound.   The scenery & weather have been spectacular for the past 2 days and now followed by rain and dropping temps.  We should be on the water soon, the Pack Ice is showing signs of moving out as I type!  A few pics to follow later....  Tim

Russell here, Alain and I just watched a narwahl hunt right offshore in town...Fantastic!! The weather has gone bad..low clouds, rain and wind...getting better on thursday though. Nancy in Grise...we probably wont see you by the 16th. Safe travels though. The kayaks arrive later today , so we think maybe late tomorrow we can head out of town,(24 hours of light).

Did you get on the wrong plane Russell... the weather has been glorious here and it's set to be almost like a warm Florida (winter) day (30 degrees) by the end of the week. Have fun pal!

Hi Guys,

Glad to hear you made it safely to Pond Inlet. It was really great meeting you during your brief stop-over in Ottawa and we all hope everything goes great for a safe, fun and successful trip.

Have a safe paddle

Glad you are all there and ready to start.

Have a great and safe venture; looking forward to following the team.

As always sending as many good vibes as possible - Good Paddling!!

Hey, Team Sweetwater! Now that you have had time to assess your situation and come to grips with the reality of it, we are all happy you have decided the safest course is not the one to Devon Island, which seemed like sheer madness even to suggest. We are all breathing a sigh of relief over that decision. Better safe than sorry. Good risk management on your part. Enjoy the rest of your trip, and we will see you when you return. Our thoughts are with you.
